There are people who form a stalwart core for Nova United. Some dedicate themselves to a key role for year after year – with Charter Standard and welfare among the most important.
Claire Papps is one of those people, having served as the club’s Charter Standard Officer for the last six years.
It’s a crucial role for Nova United which involves ensuring the club meets all of the demands of FA Charter Standard. This includes coordinating all coaches and managers to be suitably certified and approved to work with young people.
Having completed such an impressive stint, Claire has now stepped down from the role and handed over the reins to a newcomer to the committee, Lucy Abbott.
Claire departs with huge thanks from the whole committee and all of the managers who have benefited from her organisational skills (and her often tested patience…).
Club chairman, Ted Bowen, said: “We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had the benefit of the commitment and dedication Claire has shown and she leaves the role with our huge thanks. It’s an important job which matters to the whole club.
“Claire has ensured a smooth transition to her replacement, Lucy, who we are extremely grateful has been willing to step up and take this on. Lucy is a very welcome addition to the management team.”
There are many roles within Nova United, both formal and informal. Volunteers are always welcome, including those who are simply willing to add advice or expertise from time-to-time.
