Nova Ninjas and Nova Warriors met in the final of the Telford Junior Youth Football League (TJYFL) Under 9 Cup at AFC Telford United’s Bucks Head Ground.
Both teams celebrated success against stern opposition throughout the ties and their reward was a derby day final. Who would wear the home strip was decided by a keenly fought contest of “Rock, Paper, Scissors”!
As can be imagined the rivalry between supporters was intense but good humoured – thankfully as we all sat together in the stands!
On “the field of dreams” the Ninjas and Warriors entertained the enraptured crowd. It was great to see how the players’ skills and prowess had developed through the season. The standard of competitive football was a credit to the players – with some help from the coaches I am sure!
This was most certainly a fitting finale to the season but sadly there could be only one winning team. All players exhibited exemplary respect at the final whistle as the Nova Warriors ran out victors.
